Core Functions

Key Account Representative

Golden Palm Maintenance assigns a Key Account Representative to each location. This Senior Management member acts as the primary liaison between Property Management and Golden Palm Maintenance Ltd.

AREA MANAGERS

Quality Control and Supervision

  • Conduct inspection tours and perform regular site checks.
  • Follow up on any identified problem areas with additional inspection tours.
  • Coordinate and schedule periodic work as required.
  • Oversee the work of day and weekend staff.
  • Meet with night supervisors to highlight areas needing specific attention and to assign periodic work.
  • Ensure that WHMIS and Safety Data Sheets are available for all cleaning chemicals and solvents on site.

Liaison with Property Management:

Meet with Management to discuss areas needing specific attention, periodic work, and changes in cleaning areas.

Act as a liaison between Property Management, tenants, and Golden Palm Maintenance cleaning staff.

On-Site Night Supervisors

Inspect cleaning operations on each floor during and after cleaning.

Ensure cleaning is conducted behind locked doors.

Verify adherence to periodic cleaning schedules.

Distribute keys and pass cards to cleaners.

Review log books and arrange for necessary cleaning tasks.

Manage Cleaner Attendance:

  • Ensure all night staff are accounted for and that sign-in sheets are completed as required.
  • Coordinate with the Area Manager to cover areas when employees are absent.
  • Report absentees to the Area Manager.
  • Complete time sheets and send them to the Payroll Department.

Supply and Equipment Management

  • Conduct inventory counts of supplies and ensure each employee has the proper cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Place orders for cleaning materials and supplies with the Area Manager or Property Management.
  • Inspect all equipment and arrange for repairs or replacement as needed.

Supervisor Recruitment Criteria

Supervisors are crucial to Golden Palm Maintenance’s success. We hire supervisory staff based on the following criteria:

  • Practical experience in instructing cleaning staff on the use of materials, equipment, chemicals, and cleaning services.
  • Practical experience in handling cleaning staff issues such as attendance, punctuality, reporting onsite accidents/injuries, disciplinary issues, staff morale, and incentives.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials, chemicals, and solvents.
  • Experience in preparing time sheets.
  • Experience in filing WSIB claim forms.
  • Ability to provide references of past experience.

Golden Palm Maintenance Ltd. offers ongoing training for each member of our supervisory team.
This includes training sessions on new equipment and chemicals, meetings with chemical and equipment providers, and access to videos, literature, and brochures on innovative cleaning procedures.
Regular meetings are held to discuss problem-solving and improvements in working conditions.
